Background
Previously home to the Royal Second Life Navy group's RSLN Bluemlisalp NAS, Bluemlisalp became home to a public airfield in January 2015. The small two-level facility was squeezed in alongside New Horizons Airport on its eastern perimeter and contained a 195m x 25m runway, three hangars and a refuelling station on its upper deck. Underneath was located an additional two hangars, seven tie-down spaces, a small retail building and a watercraft dock with seaplane ramp. The airfield ceased operating at the end of March 2015.
