Jeogeot Location in Second Life

Jeogeot Continent - Location in Second Life

Jeogeot (also called the "Korean Continent") was quite lonely as the southern-most mainland continent. With the exception of Zindra, Jeogeot was also the only linden-designed continent not connected to any other on the grid. As a result, this area has always suffered from a lack of interest on the part of Second Life's aviation community. At its height in 2009, the continent had six operating airports, however four of them were under the same ownership.

Today there is a growing count of airport locations available for pilots on Jeogeot. Of these locations, Xilted Airstrip, Subak Airstrip and the USS Reprisal were created by the Linden Department of Public Works, which has its headquarters at the center of the continent. Also near the middle of the continent is an active volcanoe that can be seen spewing lava into the ocean below. In addition, there is an extensive road network which loops around the tear-dropped continent, as well as the longest suspension bridge in Second Life.

In 2019, Linden Labs began to build and expand the new "Linden Home" continent Bellisseria, located exactly between Sansara in the north and Jeogeot in the south. For the first time, Jeogeot today (2019) is connected to a huge mass of other mainland and the attractivity for aviation is extremely growing. Long distance flights now are possible, theoretically from Heterocera to at least the Jeogeot Gulf Region.

Remarkable civil airports in June 2020 are (north to south) Jinsil International, First Flight International (successor of "Wright Brothers" & "Archerfield"), Thunderflight Jeogeot Airport & Koni.

A mixture of military and civil airport is the former "Archerfield", now Von Richtofen Memorial Airfield. On this airfield there is a pronounciation of road vehicles, the whole basement is a parking lot with several showrooms and facilities.

In addition to this there are several Naval Bases, partially with runways. Combat and Civil Aviation exist side by side on Jeogeot.
