Claremont International Airport (ICAO: SL--) was a large public fixed platform airport constructed in two dedicated sim regions ('Steingrim' & 'Ingolfur') on the north-east coast of Nautilus.

Landing Advisories

  • Platform airport with top deck at approx 90m. Minimum safe altitude recommended for approach, 100m.

Background

Claremont International Airport was a large platform airport spread across two dedicated regions. The airport was served by two large runways located towards the east and west of the 'Steingrim' platform; with a number of helipads and public rez areas squeezed in between. On the east edge of the flight deck was located a hangar and the airport's main terminal building.

The second sim - 'Ingolfur' - contained the control tower for the complex as well as additional hangers and helicopter pads. Underneath the platforms, airport management constructed a docking area for boats and seaplanes at sea level; linking this area to the main airport platforms above by way of an internal monorail system and teleporters.

After a relatively long life-span, the facility ceased operating in August 2014 and was dismantled.

Airlines

There are no longer scheduled services to and from Claremont International Airport, as of August 2014.
