Gold Rush Airport, formerly Endeavour Cove Airfield, (ICAO: SLGO) is a small public airfield situated in the 'Prychek' and 'Zecksnine' regions of south-western Nautilus.
Landing Advisories
- Wingspan advisory: Large phantom scenery screen along southern edge of runway. Larger aircraft can still land.
- Obstruction advisory: Multiple structures located at runway level just west of the runway. Minimum recommended altitude 35m.
Background
Originally named Endeavour Cove Airfield, Gold Rush Airport is a single runway, 'L'-shaped airfield. In the first half of 2014 the facility was expanded to house four dedicated seaplane hangars, a helipad, waiting lounge, and nine rentable standard hangars (originally three). The refueling station remains at the center of the central taxiway, however the ATC tower has been moved to the north-west corner of the airfield. This airport is part of the Endeavour Cove complex of sims. The Endeavour Cove Mall & Performing arts center, located at the Earpoint sim is just east of the airfield and is the centerpiece of the complex. Hosting nightly live music events. There is a VKC Virtual Pet park located directly east of the north end of the airport, behind the seaport hangers.
