GridTalkie radios allow you to access the full Air traffic controller system without having to join a group. Air traffic controll works on 2 pre-installed channel GRID-ATC & Blake ATC, these channels will allow you to communicate with the ATC Towers on this channel (full list gridatc.com). The retail version of GridTalkie has 3 tuners, many preprogrammed channels including the one used here and 10,000 additional channels to choose from.
GridTalkie makes it is easy to broadcast, just type /3 before the request and you’re on the air.

Wear Gridtalkie radio and use as follows:
A channel from the pre-programed list of channels for this example we chosen GRID-ATC for tuner A.
You can use your Flight name or your Pilot Name followed by a comma and ATC will respond using that name.
Normally you choose one code to speak to specific tower for EXAMPLE purposes we will use airport call signs: SLRM
