A grid flight is typically an organized social flying event where participants travel to a specific location in Second Life via predetermined airports and routes. The term 'grid flight' can also refer more generally to any individual journey by aircraft from one airport to another.

Organized grid flights

Weekly grid flights are held by the Second Life Grid-Flight group (SLGF), organised by SL aviation enthusiast and owner of Baitoushan Intercontinental Airport, Deirdre Faulds. SLGF flights take place every week starting on Friday and are repeated on the following Saturday and Wednesday.
