Jet Nation Airport

Jet Nation Airport (ICAO: SLJN) is a public, fixed platform, military and civil airfield located in the 'Plontafus' and 'Klaviscious' regions of south-western Nautilus. The airport is home to the Jet Nation Pilots Association.

Background

Created in late 2014, Jet Nation Airport is constructed on a raised platform and is equipped with a primary 222m x 20m runway (can accommodate wingspans up to 40m) and an adjacent catapult runway. A control tower and two hangars are located on the southern edge of the flight-deck, with refuelling facilities provided at the departure end of the runway. During February 2015, the airport platform was expanded along its northern perimeter, adding six mid-sized rental hangars (with helipads) and an elevated public helipad.

Underneath the airport platform is a large marina with refuelling and rentable docking facilities for seaplanes and water-craft. There is also a public dock alongside the Harbour Master Café at the north-eastern corner of the marina. Pilots are advised that there is a 40 minute auto return policy for rezzed items and the airfield welcomes both military and civilian aviators.

By mid-2015 the facility had expanded into a parcel in the adjacent 'Klaviscious' region, making space for additional rental hangars at the airport-level and sea-level and shifting the main administrative building/ATC tower into the new parcel.
