Langanyika Airfield was a dual-runway public military airport located in the 'Mystic Hills' region of the Congo Sims landmass; a free-standing chain of four independently operated VICE-enabled combat regions.

Landing Advisories

  • Pilots can only fly to other locations in the Congo landmass from this location.
  • Elevation advisory: runway located at 36m. Minimum recommend approach at 46m.
  • Large wingspan aircraft advisory: runway is unsuitable for large aircraft.

Opened in early 2015, Langanyika Airfield was designed primarily for military aviation and served as the hub for the Congo VICE combat regions. It was the first of four regions to be created, the last ('Fatale', dubbed the 'Indian Ocean') playing host to the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier. The airfield was equipped with two runways arranged in an 'L' shape (runway '09' is 158m x 16m, '36' measures 107m x 16m) with a helipad and an ATC tower placed where the two surfaces meet. Six aircraft/repair hangars lined the edge of the runways with the south and east sim walls on the opposite side. Langanyika Airfield was closed on 22nd March 2015 and the regions which made up the Congo landmass were taken offline.
