Landing Advisories

  • Elevation advisory: Airport is free-floating airport platform at approx 100m elevation.
  • Narrow landing strip with no side-barriers, pre-landing flyover is advised.

Sleepy Bay Oryx was a narrow landing and sea dock. This runway would be of particular interest to those with fast airplanes wanting room to "let it rip," as the runway fronts three protected water sims, then the four sim passage to Nautilus allowing for up to seven sims with no obstructions. Sleepy Bay Oryx has an elevator. 1st Floor includes the sea dock and 7-seas fishing, 2nd Floor is the aircraft runway, 3rd Floor offers two helipads. After several years of continuous operation, on October 21, 2015, it was observed that the airport was gone and the land was for sale.

At its height, there were no scheduled services operating to or from Sleepy Bay Oryx, however charter flights may have been available on request.
